Cognitive and emotional infringements in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia

Purpose – studying of cognitive and emotional infringements peculiarities in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia.
Materials and methods. Examination of cognitive and emotional infringements at 105 patients with DE at the age from 41 till 60 years, including 48 patients with stage I of DE and 57 patients with stage II of DЕ has been carried out. The screening of cognitive functions according to MMSE scale was conducted before the examination. The examinations of long term and short term of auditory and verbal memory according to Luria test for 10 words, of visual long term and short term memoty according to Rubakov, of active attention and mental rate according to Krepelyn were also carried out.
Results. Under evaluation of the cognitive functions according to MMSE scale it was revealed that average index was 28.5 ± 0.15 in patients with stage І of DE, patients with the stage ІІ of DE had 26.77 ± 0.1. It proved that cognitive dysfunctions didn’t get the dementia level. General index of frontal dysfunction tests revealed not serious cognitive impairments in patients with stage І of DE – 16.54 ± 0.13, and moderate impairmetns in patients with stage ІІ of DE – 14.92 ± 0.2. During the examination of active attention, fatiguability and mental rate patients with stage I of DE had 14.1 ± 0.2, patients with stage ІІ of DE – 10.4 ± 0.5, while this index is 14.5 ± 0.2. in healthy people. Disturbing syndrome was marked in 88,6 % patients with DE. The average index in patients wth stage І of DE contained: the reactive alert – 41.96 ± 1.54, personal alert – 47.15 ± 1.35. Patients with stage ІІ of DE had 45.98 ± 1.56 and 51.46 ± 1.53 appropriately.
The presence of disturbing syndrome had negative influence on cognitive functions.
Conclusions. The cognitive inpairments decrtease the level of memory, mental rate, active attention. The cognitive infringements together with disturbing conditions influence negatively on the current of a chronic cerebral ischemia and demand the further studying for development of adequate therapy.
