Epidemiology of cerebral insults in Transcarpathia

Purpose — to determine the risk factors of cerebral insults epidemiology in Transcarpathia.
Methods and subjects. 216 patients with cerebral insults were the object of our investigation, 160 of them were with ischemic insult and 56 were with hemorrhagic insult. There were 133 male patients and 83 female. Etiologic and valid factors were analyzed.
Results. It was determined that in Transcarpathia ischemic insult happens more often at the age of 59–69 years, hemorrhagic at 26–47 years. The main etiological factor of cerebral insults is cerebral atherosclerosis, hemorrhagic — arterial hypertension. The main provocative factor of cerebral insults is wine abuse. It was found that geographical factors influence the frequency of cerebral insults occurrence: cerebral insults are more frequent in lower regions than in mountainous ones.
Conclusions. In Transcarpathia ischemic insult happens more often at the age of 59–69 years, hemorrhagic at 26—47 years. The main etiological factor of cerebral insults is cerebral atherosclerosis, hemorrhagic – arterial hypertension. The cerebral insults are more frequent in lower regions than in mountainous ones.
