Clinical efficacy of Giloba with phytosomas in patients during different periods after ischemic stroke

The purpose — to define and compare the clinical efficacy of drug Giloba with phytosomas using in patients during different periods after ischemic stroke.
Materials and methods. Clinical examination of 62 patients after ischemic stroke at the age from 50 till 80 years was carried out. There were 22 patients with an acute stroke (1st group), 20 patients during the first year after the stroke (2nd group), 20 patients after 1—1.5 years after the stroke. Neurological examination included patient condition assessment according to NIH and Bartel’s scale, eye fundus examination, trans — and extra cranial ultrasound dopplerography (USDG), short-form examination of psychological status, FAB, drawing clock test . Patients were prescribed Giloba with phytosomas 1 capsule (40 mg) three times per day during a month.
Results. After the treatment positive subjective and objective dynamics was observed in all patients who underwent the therapy course. The number of patients with light degree of neurological deficiency according to NIH scale was 19. The increasing of Bartel’s indexes was notified in patient from the 1st group till 90—95 and increasing of the same indexes till 95—100 was observed in the rest of the patients. The majority of cognitive functions was improved according to repeated neuropsychological test data. More marked changes were observed in patients from the 2nd and 3rd groups.
Conclusions. The drug Giloba with phytosomas promotes positive subjective and objective dynamics occurrence in patients during different periods after the ischemic stroke. The estimation of neurological status, changes of eye fundus vessels, dynamics of USDG, results of neuropsychological test have proved it. The best effect was observed during the early period — till 1 year after the ischemic stroke.
