Clinical and epidemiologic peculiarities of polyseasonal neuroinfection in Transcarpation region

Object – to analyze frequency and seasonal prevalence of neuroinfection in Transcarpation region.
Methods and subjects.We examined 286 patients with different forms of neuroinfection during last 3 years. The patients were examined in neurological departments of regional hospitals.
Results. 286 patients were examined among them: 60 patients with seasonal meningitis, 40 with purulent meningitis, 42 with encephalitis, 20 with meningoencephalitis, 6 with mielitis, 18 with acute disseminated encephalomielitis, 8 with encephalomielopolyneuropathy, 86 with Gyin–Barre illness, encephalitic reactions and meningisms. The most cases of neuroinfections are found in urban population with female prevalence in spring. The most cases of meningitis are found in mountainous regions, the most cases of encephalitis – in low-lying regions.
Conclusions. Neuroinfection are found in any season of the year in Transcarpation region. The number of cases of neuroinfections in Transcarpation has decreased during last 3 years. All patients who suffered from the infection should undergo preventive treatment in 2–3 months.
