Infectious agent as a trigger mechanism of ischemical disturbances of cerebral circulation
N.S. TURCHINA

Objective – to assume the role of the infectious agent in the development of ischemical disturbances of the
cerebral circulation, determine its influence on the clinical course and the consequences of the disease.
Methods and subjects. 43 patients with different forms of vascular diseases of the brain with the preceding
infection (herpes, respiratory) were examined. There were 19 men, women – 24 at the age of 32–79 years (average age – 52.7 ± 1.4 years). Patients were separated into 4 groups depending on the type of cerebral circulation disturbances and the duration of infection arising and manifestation and clinical factors of cerebral cirsulative insufficiency.

Results. Infection, which is associated with stroke, significantly complicated the clinical course of the cerebrovascular process. In all patients, except focal neurological symptomatic, which was determined by the basin of the affected vessel, infectious and general cerebral features were observed. In the 1st and the 2nd groups it was determined the increase of antibody titer towards the virus of Herpes simplex 1 and 2 types: Ab HVS1 Ig G 1:3200, Ab HVS2 IgG 1:1600, cytomegalovirus: Ab CMV IgG 1:800. In patients of the 3rd and the 4?th groups connection between Herpes infection and formation of slowly progressive disturbances of cerebral circulation type discirculatory encephalopathy (DE) was confirmed with the increasing of antibody titer Ab HVS1 IgG 1:1600, Ab HVS2 IgG 1:800, Ab CMV IgG 1:800 in blood.
Conclusions. Infection, which is associated with the systemic vessel pathology, has the provocative role in the
development of the transient ischemic attack (TIA)/stroke and also DE. Infectious agent influences negatively on the clinical course of the TIA/stroke and DE. Received data have shown, that in the increasing of blood viscosity the infectious factor, particularly Herpes infection, is very important. In therapy of the patients with the cerebrovascular pathology, which is associated with the infectious, it is necessary to add antiretroviral drugs in complex treatment.
